Abstract

The social nature of crime, characterized by a number of quantitative and qualitative indicators in the relationship with migration and demographic processes, is analyzed in the article.
The problems of studying the population as a whole are explained by the disunity of modern science. The concepts of trends and patterns of crime are revealed. The main crime trend in different periods
of time is undergoing some changes, expressed as an increase (significant or insignificant), as well as a corresponding decrease. These changes are the result of certain political, social and economic
factors (changes in legislation, criminalization, decriminalization of a number of social relations, changes in the sphere of economic relations, demographic processes – fertility decline and rising mortality,
controlled and uncontrolled migration processes, revaluation of the system of moral values, loss of intergenerational communication, etc.). The study of statistical indicators allowed the author to identify
the current trends and patterns of crime in the relationship with migration and demographic processes. For example, the decline in the birth rate has led to a change in the quantitative and qualitative
characteristics of juvenile delinquency
